We are not inundated with the 17 year cicada like many in the east, but we
do have our normal yearlies coming up now. They over-winter underground, climb
up out of the mud and molt into this totally revolting, pre-historic looking
creature that drives me nuts. Not to mention they are loud, really loud. This
is what is left behind after a molt, nothing but a shell that is
