If you fail to look up when you amble along the main street of Wamego,
Kansas, you will miss one of the defining features of our skyline. The Eagle
mounted atop the now restored historic
Columbian
Theatre. J. C. Rogers decorated his new music hall with mural-sized
paintings and other artifacts from the Chicago World's Fair a.k.a. the 1893
World's Columbian Exposition. Time and happy accident have left our little
town with the only surviving collection of artwork from the exposition and
we're only too happy to make a buck off of that fact.
