Manhattan High School's drama department staged a
Renaissance Festival a couple of weeks back. Three young men performed the
complete works of William Shakespeare on one of the stages. While they were
positively, hysterically entertaining, there is just something about
performing Richard the Third as a football game in which the crown is wrestled
back and forth by opposing teams or Two Gentlemen of Verona with finger
puppets that is just
Wrong
It really was the most wondrous thing to see, these three
young men and the inventive way they managed to present each and every one of
Shakespeare's works. Truly amazing.
